My research activities address the consequences of landscape change for avian biodiversity, including impacts on bird species distributions, community structure, and ecosystem functioning such as bird-mediated seed dispersal. Current projects are focussed on bird populations on the Gulf Coast of southern Florida... details coming as the research unfolds.
Related topics of interest include behavioural ecology, wildlife management, restoration ecology, conservation planning, biodiversity policy, and the interplay between science and politics. The effectiveness of how science is taught is another key interest.
I have studied birds in temperate, arctic and tropical ecosystems, and I enjoy trying new approaches — if you have a project idea in mind, let's talk.
